Intel has announced the second-generation Bitcoin mining chip, Blocksale ASIC. The new chip, scheduled for release in the third quarter of 2022, is designed to be more energy efficient. The first-generation mining chip was Intel Bonanza Mine.
Expectations from Blockscale ASIC
The first-generation mining chip also works well, but Intel, as always, aims to improve its products. Although Bitmain is the market leader in BTC mining performance, Intel's new device will be able to mine BTC at 580 GH/s per second. Multiple mining machines can be combined into a single unit, as each chain can host up to 256 chips.
