Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said in a tweet yesterday that he is no longer a billionaire. The bear market of crypto has wiped millions of dollars from the fortunes of many big entrepreneurs. Buterin, who developed the Ethereum blockchain in 2014, said in November 2021 that his assets are worth around $1.5 billion.
Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency, has lost 59.3% of its value in the last six months. Buterin, a Russian-born Canadian computer programmer, will continue to be one of the most active players in the cryptocurrency market. Ethereum will launch The Merge in the next 3 months.
